Foods That Help Reduce Fibroids

Foods That Constipate The classic symptoms of fibroids are enlargement of the abdomen, frequency in urination, heavy bleeding, painful intercourse, pelvic fullness, and lower back pain. Complications may arise due to fibroids, especially during labor. While there are medical and surgical options that are available to get rid of fibroids, there are foods that help reduce fibroids as well.

According to the studies conducted by the US Department of Health and Human Services, consumption of red meat and ham may be associated with increased incidence of fibroids. The consumption of red meat might increase the exposure to xenoestrogens that are stored in the fatty tissue. This can alter the natural hormone levels present in the body and thereby increase the risk of fibroids.

The other foods that help reduce fibroids are green leafy vegetables. There seems to be some evidence to substantiate the claim that consumption of green leafy vegetables may offer protection in women and prevent the development of fibroids.

Eating a balanced diet coupled with regular exercise and keeping the weight under check are all important factors to maintain good health. Increased body weight as well as fat percentage will lead to increased levels of estrogen. This may actually trigger the growth of fibroids.

Some of the other foods that help reduce fibroids are foods that have anti-inflammatory properties like rosemary, oats, cumin, hops and many more. These foods have the potential to shrink fibroids as well as prevent the formation of new ones.

Check for any hormonal imbalances by getting blood tests done at periodic intervals. Hormonal imbalances are also responsible for fibroids. Ensure that there are no nutritional deficiencies as this can worsen the situation. If any deficiencies are noticed in the reports, talk to your physician and take supplements.

Whole grains, fruits, bran are all essential foods that help reduce fibroids. Ensure you include them in your daily diet and increase the fluid intake. Hemorrhoids and constipation are associated with fibroids and hence these dietary changes will help to a large extent.

How do I prevent constipation when my toddler hates foods that will keep her bowel healthy?
She loves foods that constipate and strongly refuses to eat the ones that are good for her like peaches and apricots. I have tried high fiber crackers, bran crunchy cookies and sneaking the fruit into her yogourt (sometimes works). She hates most vegetable and likes the following only yogour, custard, pudding, mini go , cheese, pasta, beef with vegetable, spaghetti, bananas, corn (just a little), mac and cheese, french toast, pancakes, waffles, muffins (carrot) milk but will not drink juice. she has been eating in this strange manner since about 13 months .. She used to eat better but goes on food binges.
